Introduction of WZVCST
Wenzhou Vocational College of Science and Technology is a higher vocational institution officially established in February 2008 with the approval of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government. Built on the foundation of the Wenzhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences, it is the only independently established higher vocational college in Wenzhou with a focus on agriculture, while retaining the designation of the Wenzhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The college is a member of the national "Double High Plan" and is also recognized as a National Model Institution for Rural Revitalization Talent Cultivation. It has received the highest award in China's vocational education sector—the Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award for Outstanding Schools.
The college has seven secondary schools, over 12,000 full-time students, and more than 780 faculty members, including over 110 with doctoral degrees. It has pioneered the full-time recruitment of a Canadian academician and, with enterprise partners, a Russian academician. The campus spans 3,890 mu. Adhering to the distinctive model of "integrating agriculture, education, and research with industry, academia, and research," the college offers 35 majors (20 agriculture-related), enrolling about 2,000 agriculture students annually—the highest number of agriculture-related majors and students among Zhejiang's higher vocational colleges for several consecutive years. Three major programs are in Zhejiang's second "Double High Plan," with the Green Food Production Technology program included in the national second "Double High Plan."
Actively aligning with the Belt and Road Initiative, the college has made significant international progress. Leveraging agricultural strengths, it established the "Uzbekistan Pengsheng Silk Road College," training over 6,000 international professionals. It exports educational resources and standards, creating a new overseas education model that integrates hardware and software. The college has cooperative education programs with universities in New Zealand and Russia, with the Landscape Architecture program as a provincial model. It has agreements with 31 overseas institutions in countries like New Zealand, Singapore, Russia, Thailand, and Malaysia for curriculum, exchange, and research collaboration. Over 190 faculty members have been sent abroad for exchange. The college actively welcomes international students; International students from Uzbekistan, Singapore, and Malaysia have attended classes, and students from Thailand and Poland have studied Chinese. With its distinctive strengths, the college has achieved high international recognition and, witnessed by the Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister, received the "Outstanding Contribution Award for China-Malaysia International Education Cooperation."
Project Introduction: 2026 Wenzhou Vocational College of Science and Technology "Chinese + Agricultural Technology" International Summer School
In line with the "Belt and Road" Initiative and to deepen cooperation in agricultural science, technology, and education between China and Uzbekistan, Wenzhou Vocational College of Science and Technology (WZVCST) plans to host its International Summer School program in June 2026. We are recruiting 20 students from Uzbekistan for a one-month "Chinese + Agricultural Technology" training program in China.
This program leverages our college's strengths in agricultural education and our established partnerships with universities and enterprises in Uzbekistan. The curriculum is designed to integrate language learning with professional skills, aiming to cultivate versatile talents proficient in both Chinese and modern agricultural techniques. The training covers key areas such as Agricultural Chinese, High-Yield Crop Cultivation Techniques, Protected Agriculture, Cross-border E-commerce for Agricultural Products, and an introduction to Smart Agriculture Applications. The program combines theoretical classroom instruction with hands-on field practice, utilizing our college's advanced research platforms and practice bases to provide an immersive and practical learning experience.
In addition to the core curriculum, participants will engage in a variety of enriching Chinese cultural experience activities, allowing them to immerse themselves in Wenzhou's unique local culture and customs. This summer school is not only an opportunity for professional development but also a valuable platform for building friendships between the youth of China and Uzbekistan and fostering future exchanges and cooperation in agricultural technology.
