Overview of Yiwu Industrial & Commercial College
Yiwu Industrial & Commercial College (YWICC) is located in world-famous international trade city--Yiwu. Evolving from Yiwu Campus of Hangzhou University, jointly founded by Yiwu Municipal People’s Government and Hangzhou University in 1993, YWICC was officially established in 2002 with the approval of Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government and grows into a distinctive public higher vocational college. Covering an area of over 204 acres, YWICC has around 13,000 full-time Chinese and international students in 33 three-year programs in 9 schools.
YWICC is listed as construction unit of the Second Batch of “National Plan for the Construction of High-Level Higher Vocational Colleges and Disciplines with Chinese Characteristics” and “High-Level Vocational Colleges” in Zhejiang Province. It has been awarded the title of “National Model University with Outstanding Experience in Innovation and Entrepreneurship” and recognized as a “National Mass Innovation Space”. Over the past 30-plus years, it has developed three distinctive features: Entrepreneurship Education, Creativity Education and International Education.
YWICC has been ranked first in National Vocational College Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Index for three consecutive years, with the entrepreneurship rate of its fresh graduates reaching 12%. Yiwu Creative Park operated by YWICC is China’s first creative cultural park with “small commodity innovative design” as its core R & D direction, providing services to over 3,000 manufacturing enterprises annually. YWICC has carried out exchanges and cooperation with over 100 universities and institutions worldwide and admitted 13,000 person-times of international students from 113 countries since 2007. It has established an International Park for Entrepreneurship & Innovation to support international students to start their business, and 24% of its international graduates have started their businesses successfully.
Overview of 2026 Summer School Program
The program runs for 10-15 days, with English-speaking work team and flexible start dates to accommodate students’ summer schedules. Our goal is to offer you an opportunity to gain an in-depth experience of the innovation and entrepreneurship education at Yiwu Industrial & Commercial College, the commercial ecosystem and cultural heritage of Yiwu, and understand how young people from all over the world embark on various forms of entrepreneurial and innovative dream-chasing journeys in this inclusive, open and vibrant city, thus building a bridge for exchanges among young people from different countries.
Highlights:
Immersive Experience: The program provides participants with a rich and immersive experience, which includes visits and journey to Campus Entrepreneurial Park, World’s largest Small Commodity Trade Market, International Land Port E-Commerce City, leading international trade enterprises, and specialty cuisines from various countries.
Face-to-face Communication: Participants have abundant time and chances to communicate face-to-face with young Chinese and international entrepreneurs. With little age gap and psychological distance between participants and entrepreneurs, it’s more likely for the participants to gain inspiration for starting their own business.
Diversified Activities: The program integrates a variety of exchange and learning activities: visits to commercial venues such as Yiwu International Trade Mart, lectures on innovation and entrepreneurship education, experiences of traditional Chinese culture, interactions with youth from different countries, etc.
