1. College Overview
Zhejiang Industry & Trade Vocational College (ZJITC) is a provincially administered, full-time public institution of higher education. Located in Wenzhou, ZJITC operates two campuses: the Fudong Road Campus and the Oujiangkou Campus, covering a total area of 1,270 mu (approximately 210 acres) and enrolling over 14,000 full-time students. The college consists of nine schools and ten specialized industry institutes. It offers eight professional major clusters—covering thirty-seven higher vocational programs, one four-year undergraduate program, two undergraduate programs for junior college graduates, three programs for international students, three Chinese-foreign cooperative programs, and four secondary vocational programs.
2. Introduction to the 2026 Summer School Programs
The college has built a high-standard multi-level international cooperation system, ranking among the top higher vocational colleges in Zhejiang Province in terms of the number of exchange visitors from the United States. In terms of cross-strait exchanges, ZJITC has upheld the concept of “the two sides of the Strait are one family” and taken “Integration, Co-creation and Intelligence Sharing” as its guiding theme. Several activites have been selected as key exchange programs by the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of the Ministry of Education and the Taiwan Affairs Office of Zhejiang Provincial People's Government. The college expects to attract more than 100 Taiwan young people to Wenzhou for exchanges in 2026.
2.1 “Perceiving Wenzhou” China-US Vocational Education Development Exchange Activity
In response to the “Five-Year Five-Thousand” Initiative and to carry forward the friendly relations between Chinese and American young people, the college invites teachers and students from China and the United States to exchange ideas, explore innovative measures and experiences in promoting China-US educational cooperation. Centered on the theme of “China-US Vocational Education Development” and taking cooperative education as the starting point, this activity will launch a series of “Four One” sub-activities, namely 1 China-US Vocational Education Development Seminar, 1 Youth Salon, 1 Traditional Art Experience, and 1 China-US Sports Game.
2.2 Cross-Strait Youth Maker Workshop
The activity consists of four parts: a research and exchange activity on the inheritance of Chinese intangible cultural heritage, a research activity on Chinese manufacturing enterprises starting from “Zhejiang Intelligent Manufacturing”, an innovation activity on traditional manufacturing products targeting “Wenzhou Fashion”, and a showcase of designed products guided by the “Wenzhou Spirit”. The focus of the program lies in the infiltration of traditional Chinese culture into the workshop and the integration of the maker workshop with local industries in design and innovation. Teachers and students from cross-strait universities are invited to form mixed teams. Centering on the activity themes and the themes of Wenzhou’s major pillar industries, the teams will conduct 10-day creative work to enhance the innovation and entrepreneurship of cross-strait young people.
2.3 Cross-Strait Youth π E-commerce Training Camp
The college provides training in various fields such as e-commerce operation, live streaming practice, brand building and marketing, building a more in-depth platform for exchange and practice for cross-strait young people, and attracting more Taiwan young people to start businesses and seek employment in Wenzhou.
2.4 Cross-Strait Youth Academic Salon
Relying on the Wenzhou Taiwan Research Center, the salon invites young cross-strait scholars to exchange and discuss their research results on Taiwan young people’s employment and entrepreneurship in the mainland, cross-strait economic integration and social development, and also invites senior experts to make comments, so as to help Taiwan young people integrate into the development of the motherland.
