✦ “YES” Program

1. Overview:The “YES” Program held by ZTVCST is a short-term study visit initiative designed to invite American youth to China for cultural and academic exchange. The program is held annually in May or December and has been successfully running for two years. The upcoming session is scheduled to take place from May 17 to May 26, 2026.

2. Eligible Participants: Each cohort welcomes 10 to 20 American youth participants, primarily comprising university and secondary school students, young scholars and researchers, working professionals, freelancers, and independent practitioners committed to promote China-U.S. relations, all between the ages of 13 and 45 years.

3. Program Content: Themed "Waterways of the East," the program uses water as a connecting thread to guide participants along China’s river systems, enabling them to "follow the waterways and observe the national conditions." The itinerary encompasses visits to major cities such as Hangzhou, Shanghai, and Nanjing, as well as immersive explorations of traditional villages and new rural development models in Zhejiang Province. The program integrates rich cultural immersion activities, including expert lectures, intangible cultural heritage workshops such as traditional tie-dyeing, hands-on culinary experiences like dumpling making, Song-style tea whisking ceremonies, and performances of Shaoxing Opera. These interactive experiences are designed to help American youth develop a nuanced and authentic understanding of China, ultimately strengthening cross-cultural bonds and cultivating lasting friendships between the younger generations of both nations.
