2. Introduction to "Silk Rhythm & New Waves"—Traditional Chinese Fashion and Art Culture Workshop
The workshop unfolds around three interconnected themes, traditional craftsmanship, modern inheritance, and cross-border co-creation, offering participants an aesthetic journey that is hands-on, immersive, and creatively engaging.
In the Traditional Craftsmanship section, you will explore the legacy of Chinese silk at the Jiaxing Silk Museum, tracing the journey from cocoon to brocade. Through an indigo tie-dye workshop, you will craft a Water-town style accessory, and a woodblock printing session will invite you to carve traditional patterns, revealing the narrative depth of Chinese visual culture.
The Modern Inheritance segment brings tradition into the present. A visit to EP Yaying Group shows how brocade and Chinese frog buttons are reimagined in contemporary design. At Puyuan Fashion Town, you will discover how local craftsmanship absorbs global trends.
In the final theme, Cross-border Co-creation, a Hanfu-making workshop introduces the tailoring of ancient Chinese garments. An excursion to Hangzhou's West Lake combines scenic inspiration with a visit to the West Lake Silk Market for fabric selection.
The workshop culminates in a closing ceremony exhibition, where your creations become part of a living dialogue between you and Chinese fashion cultures.
